Virginia Lee Ferguson, 94 of Pana, IL died, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her home. She was born November 3, 1922 in Hayti, MO to the late Joel & Willa Mae (Spencer) Stubbs. She married Paul F. Ferguson on January 8, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2015.

Virginia lived most of her life in the Pana area. She was a member of the Pana VFW post #4431, United In Faith Church of Pana, Christian County Senior Citizens and served on the Auxillary Womens Board for Kemerer Village where she helped organize and run fundraisers. After serving her country in the US Navy, Virginia worked as an RN at Pana Community Hospital for 35 years. She wrote the grant to help start home health care and was the first director of the Quad County Home Health services. She was a master crafts lady, making and donating many items to the Pana Community Hospital Bizarre and was very well known for her paper flowers and scrubbies.

Virginia is survived by her children Brett Ferguson of Indiana, Brian Ferguson of Pana, IL, Lisa Ferguson of Pana, IL, Suzanne (Tim) Ehlebracht of Homewood, IL, and Tammy (Don) Marek of Wheaton, IL; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Lance Ferguson, and a brother Clint Stubbs.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at United In Faith Church of Pana at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joel Jackel-Hugh officiating.  Inurnment will be in Twin Pines Cemetery in Pana with military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
