Kenneth V. “Chub” Barding, 80, of Pana died Monday, August 16, 2010 in his residence.
He was born November 2, 1929 in Oconee, IL, the son of Thomas F. & Zola Bland Barding. He lived his entire life in the Pana area and retired from the gas department at Ameren CIPS in 1992 after 35 ½ years.
Kenneth was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Pana. He played Fast Pitch Softball for many years and enjoyed the morning coffee club at McDonald’s. He also enjoyed hunting rabbits and squirrels, liked to fish and enjoyed working in the yard.
He married Addie R. Esmann on September 28, 1958 in Shelbyville. She survives in Pana along with their children: Jim Barding & wife Doris, Oconee, IL; Kathy Munson & husband Jim, Chattanooga, TN: Beulah Cassidy & husband Roger, Ohlman, IL; Kim Barringer & husband Ken, Rosamond, IL; 9 grandchildren: Jim Barding, Jr., Jamie Barding, Zech Barding, Stephanie Barding, Jared Munson, Zeke Cassidy, Alexa Cassidy, Kenna Barringer, Josh Barringer; 5 great grandchildren: Hannah, Ashlyn, Karlee, Sydney, Maddie; and by his sister: Beulah Johnson, Taylorville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers & two sisters.
Funeral Information
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Rosemond Grove Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Jim Munson officiating.
