Sylvia Crawford, 73, of Pana, died Monday, December 19, 2011 in her home. She was born December 5, 1938 in Pana, the daughter of William Henry & Cora Agnes (Budds) Goodwin. Syliva lived in Pana her entire life and was a graduate of Pana High School. She also attended one year at Lake Land College. Sylvia was retired from the State of Illinois as an Executive Secretary for the Department of Commerce & Community Affairs. She liked to travel and go to the casino gambling boats. She also enjoyed bowling and taking care of her great granddaughter. Sylvia was a member of the Pana Red Hat Society, Christian County Home Extension, Pana Women of the Moose, Pana VFW Auxiliary, & St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana.
Sylvia Goodwin & Ronald Crawford were united in marriage on September 3, 1971 in Effingham, IL. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1997.
She is survived by her children: Max Beem & wife Natalie, Salem, IL; Lisa Allen & husband John, Herrick, IL; Lori Woolsey, Vandalia, IL; & Cora Beem, Pana, IL; 8 grandchildren: Casey & Ryan Kistler; Courtney & James Allen; Nancy, Ashley, Shelby, & Kayley; 2 great grandchildren: Baley & Camdyn; and brothers: Tom Goodwin, Whittier, CA; Bill Goodwin & Mick Goodwin, both of Pana, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents; & sister, Stacia Irene Haggerty.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Joe Mollet officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
