Martha Evelyn Lucille Scribner, 93, of Pana, formerly of Nokomis, died August 29th, 2010 at the home of her daughter.
Lucille was born March 27, 1917 the daughter of Johnny and Maude (Bird) Mince in Parma, MO. She married her husband of 55 years Clemmie M. Scribner Sr. on October 4th, 1933 in Mathews, MO. He preceded her in death on Sept 27th, 1988. They began their lives together farming in Bloomfield, MO. In 1946 they moved their family to a farm in rural Nokomis. Lucille enjoyed writing poetry, bird watching, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucille was a member of Pana Christian Church.
In her younger days Lucille was a 4-H Leader, served on Nokomis Homecoming committee, Nokomis home extension, Audubon County Election Judge and a member of Walker Baptist Church Quartet. Lucille loved pitching washers, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She and Clem enjoyed square dancing and playing cards with neighbors.
She is survived by daughters, Jane (Weldon) Stetter of Cantrall, IL, Bonnie (David) Books of Springfield, IL, Sue (Bill) Koons of Pana, IL, Kathy (Linh) Pham of Austin, TX, sons, Clem Scribner Jr of Oconee, IL, Jerry (Krissy) Scribner of Vista, CA and Larry (Hanh) Scribner of Austin, TX, brother, Charles Mince of Indiana, 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother James Mince, son Richard Scribner and daughter Patricia Ann Scribner.

Funeral Information

Services will be held at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana, IL on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Mollet officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1st. Burial will be in Bilyeu Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL.
