Dorothy Sanders Jarrett, 67, of Pana, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 in her home. She was born December 25, 1944 in Pana. Her parents were James Welburn, Velma Allen & Floyd Bland. Dorothy grew up and lived most of her life in Pana. She worked at Wal-Mart until about 4 years ago. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed her dogs, traveling, shopping, and loved her family. Dorothy was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Pana.
She married Robert Sanders on October 1, 1960. He preceded her in death. She then married Theodore “Ted” Farris Jarrett on August 3, 1996. He preceded her July 15, 2009.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Laura Miller & husband Jesse, Virden, IL; Karen Mizeur & husband Phillip, Oconee, IL; Sally Morrison & husband Bill, Pana, IL; Toby Sanders & wife Suzanna, Pana, IL; and Kenny Sanders & wife Darsie, Assumption, IL; step children: Theodore “Teddy” Jarrett, Jr & wife B.J., Hartville, MO; and Theresa Boerma & husband Tom, Eldorado, KS; 11 grandchildren: Phillip Mizeur, Sarah Rochkes, Joseph Mizeur, Bradley Mizeur, Joni Morrison, Tera Morrison, Will Morrison, Andrew Sanders, Aden Sanders, Keegan Sanders, & Bret Miller; 12 great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Lillyanna, Bianca, Kadence, Breanna, Lexi, Tyson, Julia, Bradley, Baila, Rowen, & Liam; and brothers & sisters: Jack Welburn & wife Joyce, Roy Welburn & wife Linda, Barbara Inman & husband Burl, Marvin Bland & wife Pat, Beverly Beck & husband Raymond, Penny Brown & husband Ronnie, all of Pana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents: James Welburn, Velma Kelmel and Floyd Bland; daughter: Cindy Sanders; & brother: Floyd Clifford Bland.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Brown & Pastor Tom Boerma officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
