Carl Cloe

February 03, 1951 - May 31, 2017

Carl Cloe, 66, of Herrick, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.  He was born February 3, 1951 in Pana, son of William & Betty (Finks) Cloe.

Carl was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1969.  He attended the Herrick Baptist Church.  He worked for the Pana Greenhouse for 16 years and as a groundskeeper at Oak Terrace for 15 years.  Carl was a great supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  He loved farming with his brothers, playing golf with the Wright brothers, watching sports on tv, camping with his wife, and any activities with his children & grandchildren.

Carl Cloe and Rebecca Horseman were married on April 21, 1979 at Center Church, Oconee. They were married for 38 wonderful years.  

He is survived by his wife: Rebecca Cloe, Herrick, IL; son: Kyle (Brandi) Cloe, Herman, MN; daughters: Willian (Steve Johnson) Ade, Herrick, IL and Oscaletta Cloe, Pana, IL; mother: Betty Cloe, Beecher City, IL; 7 grandchildren: Oari, Coy, Wade, Mia, Moe, Jazper, Saulmon; several foster children, including “honorary daughters”: Courtney Toney & Ashley Burgener; brothers: Melvin (Madonna) Cloe, Herrick, IL & Billy Cloe, Pana, IL; sister: Carolyn (Charlie) Smith, Beecher City, IL; and numerous nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father on February 24, 2006.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Huddleston officiating.  Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
