Philip Haws, Sr.

Philip Haws, Sr., 87, of Pana, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Heritage Health—Pana. He was born July 18, 1924 in Amboy, IL, the son of Ervin and Alma Phillips Haws. Philip served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving 3 years. He worked for Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling, IL and moved to Pana in 1986 from Amboy. Philip was a member of the Fame Evangelical Church, Moweaqua; Pana VFW Post #4431; Howard L. Sims AMVETS Post #44, Pana; and IOOF.
He married Darlene Forman and she survives in Pana, IL, along with their son, Philip C. “Chuck” Haws, Jr., Pana, IL; & brother: Vincent Haws, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Glen; and brothers: Wilbur Haws, Delbert Haws, & Ernest Haws.

Funeral Information

Cremation rights will be accorded.
A gathering of friends & family will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until service time in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with a service of remembrance to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Black officiating and military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
Inurnment will be in Prairie Repose Cemetery, Amboy, IL at a later date.
