Galen W. Davis, 75, of Pana, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. He was born July 2, 1932 in Oconee, IL, the son of Theodore Chester & Edna J. Schwarm Davis. After graduating from Pana High School, Galen attended Lake Land College, Mattoon and attained an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering. Galen lived most of his life in Oconee, Ramsey, and Pana areas. He worked as a diesel mechanic, and had worked in construction & aviation maintenance. Galen was of the Pentecostal faith, and he enjoyed working on automobiles and lawn mowers.
He married Judy A. Burrus on November 11, 1968 in Herrick, IL.
Galen is survived by his wife: Judy Davis, Pana, IL; children: Kenneth Davis & wife Debra, Effingham, IL; Laura Sue Fleet & husband Paul, Pana, IL; William Edward Davis & wife Mary, Neoga, IL; Gail Mason & husband David, Humboldt, IL; Tina Stewardson & husband Paul, Princeton, KY & Michael Davis & wife Jenna, Oconee, IL; 23 grandchildren; & 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents & 3 brothers: Wayne Davis, Isaac Davis, & Oral Davis.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leon Goff officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Ramsey, IL. Friends may call on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
