Lonnie Scott, 59, of Nokomis, died Monday, January 9, 2012 in Pana Community Hospital.
He was born December 31, 1952 in Pana, IL, son of Levenne O. & Wanda Mae Cook Scott, deceased. Lonnie lived in Pana until his marriage, when he moved to Springfield. Later he lived in Riverton, and Williamsville prior to Nokomis. He was a diesel mechanic and had worked at Fiat Allis, later Hennesey Forrestal, Bobcat of Springfield, Dunn & Company, and Lubby. He was a past member of the Operating Engineers. Lonnie enjoyed motorcycles, working on cars and old trucks, and spending time with his friends at the truck stop. He loved his dog Princess. He was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT when he lived in Riverton.
Lonnie married Sharlyn Kottwitz. They were later divorced and she survives.
He is survived by his children: Nathan Scott & wife Elizabeth, Athens, IL; Miranda Scott & fiance Etim Fisk, Springfield, IL; Melinda Durchholz & husband Damon, Mt. Pulaski, IL; Melissa Harrison & husband Michael, Mechanicsburg, IL; Michael Scott & wife Molinda, Champaign, IL; Megan Scott, Belleville, IL; Melanie Scott, Williamsville, IL; 9 grandchildren: Natalie, Eleanor, Jasmine, Kaylee, William, Autumn, Emily, Lili, and Katlyn; and by his sisters: Sherry Harris & husband David, Pana, IL; Terrie Hoffman & husband Vern, Nokomis, IL and Alishia Durbin & husband Wayne, Oconee, IL.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 12:00 noon with John Coney, Minister officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
