Betty Jean Culberson Holland, 75, of Pana, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. She was born May 5, 1935 in Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Reginald E. & Eva V. Abernathy Culberson.
A graduate of Pana High School Class of 1953,she lived in Pana her entire life, She was retired from the business office at Pana Community Hospital. Betty was a member of United In Faith Church, former member of First United Presbyterian Church, and a 35-year member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She was a passionate competitive marathon bridge player and hand-made quilts for all of her children.
Betty Jean is survived by her children: Kim Justice & husband Jeff, Decatur, IL; Julie Barber & husband Glen, Roseville, IL; Jeff Holland & wife Shawn, Pana, IL; DeEtte Howell & husband Kelly, St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren: Scott, Luke, Joshua, Alex, Jacob, Christopher, Kristina, Caleb, Hannah, Kaylee & Sophia; 2 great grandchildren: Isabelle and Augusten; brother: B. L. Culberson & wife Sharon, Troy, IL; sisters: Elsie Buckley, Decatur, IL; Barbara Vits, Indian Hills, CO; Janet Stanton, Stickney, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughters: Lindsey and Whitney, and by her sister, Dorisann Stites.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in United in Faith Church, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marilyn Rauch & Rev. Marge Overlot officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Delta Theta Tau funeral rites at 8:00 p.m.
