Donna May “Mazie” Davis-Manuel, 72, of Pana, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in her residence. She was born June 1, 1937 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Tony and Ella May Wafford Davis. Donna was a bartender at Pana Bowl for 18 years, and had also worked at Bob’s Café for 6 years and The Beer Garden for 7 years. She enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, Bingo & dice, and was a member of the Pana Eagles Club.
She married Garold Manuel on September 19, 1959. They were married for 28 years and later divorced.
Donna is survived by her children: Joni Deere & husband Jim, Pana, IL; Gary Manuel, Pana, IL; Janette Burleson & husband Cliff, Sturgis, KY; Terri Nash, Jewett, IL; & Vicky Manuel, Taylorville, IL; 28 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; twin brother, Donald Ray “Razor” Davis & wife Cindy, Sparta, TN; & sister, Shirley Sorem & husband Gordon, Batavia, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Davis; mother, Ella May Braaksma; step father, Tiny Braaksma; brother, Earl Davis; grandson, James Kries; great grandson, Garrett Dunaway; & nephews, Raymond & Ricky Davis.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2010 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Twin Pines Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
